As former Miss Bahamas 1981, Ava Burke-Thompson, Founder of Happily Ava After, has spent over 40 years in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry and over 30 years in the Wedding Industry. With past experience as a Wedding Planner and Senior Manager of Romance, Ava is an expert when it comes to wedding planning in The Bahamas.

Wedding Planner & Consultant
For more than three decades Karen’s professional career has been in The Bahamian Hospitality Industry. Having orchestrated hundreds of destination and weekend weddings, Karen’s experience has proved invaluable to her brides and their families while her creativity, professionalism and ability to listen to the needs of her clients provides a soothing comfort zone for her destination wedding brides and grooms.

Averi Thompson
Wedding & Event Coordinator
Averi Christina, as she is often referred to, found it easy to join HAA Bahamas. Averi grew up watching her mother, Ava, coordinate and execute weddings throughout her career in the Hotel and Tourism Industry in Nassau and Paradise Island. Averi took a personal liking as she stood in as Flower Girl, Bridesmaid and Maid of Honor in many of our Destination Weddings and those of family and friends.  Despite graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounts and Finance from the College of St. Benedict’s in Minnesota, Averi has fallen in love with wedding coordination and has a keen eye and appreciation for the value and cost of planning and executing a wedding. Averi thoroughly enjoys her role as Coordinator and aims to ensure that every single couple left Happily Ava After.
